However, they’re also endlessly versatile for searing, simmering, baking, boiling, braising, and deep-frying, which is why we think they’re well worth the investment. This is the cheapest Dutch oven we recommend. In our tests, it put a great sear on pork and we liked that it came in a variety of colors.
